C. James Patti
C. James Patti has served as President of the Maritime Institute for Research and Industrial Development (Maritime Institute) since April 3, 1985. The Maritime Institute is a Washington, DC-based association representing the legislative interests of United States-flag shipping companies having a collective bargaining relationship with the International Organization of Masters, Mates & Pilots. From 1980-1985, Mr. Patti served as the Maritime Institute’s Vice President and, prior to joining the Maritime Institute, served as Vice President and Counsel to the Transportation Institute. Mr. Patti graduated from George Washington University in 1969 and from the Catholic University Columbus School of Law in 1974. He is a member of various maritime industry organizations; presently serves on the Board of the Propeller Club of the United States, Port of Washington, DC.; and was honored by the Propeller Club of the United States as its Maritime Person of the Year in 1990.
